Trinity Alumni Webinar with Professor Christine Casey and Yvonne Farrell FRIAI, 8 July 1pm
COVID-19 and the future of architecture: how pandemics past & present have shaped our built environment
Date: 8 July 2020
Where: Via Zoom
In this Trinity College Alumni webinar, Professor Christine Casey of Trinity’s Department of History of Art & Architecture will be joined by Yvonne Farrell FRIAI of the award-winning architecture firm Grafton Architects to discuss and share their vision for how our built landscape – from Trinity’s own campus to Dublin’s city centre and beyond – may change to adapt to the challenges posed by COVID-19.
They will look at how pandemics have altered our built environment throughout history; how university buildings are constantly adapting to the needs of their community; and what it might mean to design for a world that may never be quite the same, especially when it comes to how we use large public spaces both inside and outside our buildings.
