Event Information

Congress is a valuable learning opportunity

Congress 2022 in Belfast (8-10 June) will be an incredible opportunity to learn from and with the city.

A mixed programme of tours, site workshops, speakers, and cultural performances will provide a fascinating look at urbanism through a Belfast lens.

Theme: Cities Overcoming Challenges

Belfast’s challenges - better collaboration, shaping authentic experiences, building climate leadership, and delivering equitable economic development - are the same questions facing cities worldwide.

Why Belfast?

Congress in Belfast represents an opportunity to combine some of the current strategic issues - such as A Bolder Vision and the work of the High Streets Task Force and major cultural place-focused cultural initiatives such as UNESCO City of Music and the forthcoming Year of Culture - to explore how people and communities can be engaged in the city’s authentic placemaking.

Where in Belfast is Congress taking place?

Congress is happening in all parts of the city, and the five major venues are:

  • Belfast City Hall – Wednesday evening
  • The MAC – Thursday morning
  • Ulster Museum – Thursday evening
  • Crumlin Road Gaol – Friday all day
  • Carlisle Memorial Church – Friday evening (Congress Dinner)

The congress provides a great experience for the entire team; while the organisers cannot issue CPD points, they can provide verification for self-evaluated records. For further information or assitance please contact the programme coordinator Connie Dales.
