Event Information
The RIAI and the Heritage Contractors Register hosted a live webinar on The Repair to Historic and Decorative Facades, by Jimmy O’Friel, Oldstone Conservation on 31 May 2023.
Course Aim
The lecture will provide an insight into the repair techniques used in the restoration of decorative and historic building facades with an emphasis on stucco and render repairs as seen in project case studies: - Blackrock Further Education Institute; Wolfe Tone House and 69 Dame Street.
Speaker - Jimmy O’Friel
Managing Director of Oldstone Conservation Ltd. An Engineering graduate of Trinity College Dublin and previously worked in Engineering roles within the public and private sector in UK and Ireland for over 14 years. In 2004 appointed as General Manager to a Conservation Company and quickly realised a passion within this field.
During this period Jimmy managed a number of significant projects that included Killeen Castle, MacDonagh Junction and the O2 arena in Dublin. After the company closed down in 2010, Jimmy established Oldstone Conservation Ltd. With a committed & skilled team, the company has grown and established a strong reputation within the conservation industry.
Oldstone has completed a number of prestigious projects which include Leinster House, No.14 Henrietta Street (Tenement Museum), Blackrock Further Education Institute, Kilmainham Courthouse and the GPO Eastern Courtyard as well as others.
