Event Information

The RIAI and the Heritage Contractors Register present a recording of the RIAI Conservation / Meet the Craftsman CPD on Conservation within large-scale urban development – Grangegorman, which was held in March 2022.

Gráinne Shaffrey, Shaffrey Architects and Conor Sreenan, Director of Strategy & Design, Grangegorman Development Agency, jointly present and facilitate a discussion with audience members.

This CPD will explore conservation aspects of large-scale urban area development; from the practitioner and developer perspectives.
It will specifically focus on the ongoing process of revealing the former St. Brendan’s Hospital as renewed piece of city with health and education facilities – for the Health Service Executive, TU Dublin and the Dublin 7 Educate Together National School – along with open-access public realm for the existing and emerging communities within the Grangegorman neighbourhood.

This process spans policy, planning, procurement, partnerships, urban area regeneration; adaptive reuse; intangible aspects of cultural heritage, to the detail challenges within specific building projects, and more.

This online CPD course is delivered via RIAI Digital Chalk.
