Introduction 

This online lecture comprises of a live recording of a RIAI & Heritage Contractors Register ‘Meet the Craftsman’ lecture which took place on 14 November 2019 featuring Jimmy O’Freil, Managing Director of Oldstone Conservation speaking about ‘The Conservation and Repair of Historic Buildings & Protected Structures’

Oldstone Conservation was formed in 2010 with the aim of providing a professional contracting service in the field of conservation and restoration.

Course Aim

The aim of the Meet the Craftsman series  is to provide Architects, as specifiers for heritage projects, with an insight into how the works they specify are carried out by craftsmen on heritage projects. 

Learning Outcomes

On completion of these CPDs attendees should understand how specified works are carried out by the various craftsmen involved. Crafts covered during the series will include ironwork and metalwork, joinery, decorative plasterwork, façade cleaning, masonry rebuild & repair (stone & brick), lime render and structural repairs.
