The Fire Restaurant at the Mansion house is an elegant addition floating above the gardens. The architect has skilfully addressed the considerable challenges presented by the site context; fulfilling the commercial imperative to give the restaurant greater visibility and functionality without compromising the iconic historic Dublin landmark. The glass facades and interiors are finely detailed and executed. The building is an excellent example of how to insert contemporary architecture in sensitive historic settings.
