Everyday Architecture Galway

Galway’s Eyre Square became the venue for the ‘Everyday Architecture Galway’ exhibition for two weeks during the month of October. The outdoor event continued the theme of the 2009/10 ‘Everyday Architecture Mayo’ exhibition, considering how everyone's everyday experience can be improved through good design; be it in a house or through a shop front, a piece of furniture, a moment of life framed in a view, a detail, or simply how daylight enters a room.
The exhibition featured the work of 25 architecture practices and included projects ranging from nursing homes to kitchen extensions to items of furniture. The exhibition was organised by local architects Don Silke, Lester Naughton, Niamh Kearns and Helena McElmeel and was supported by the RIAI and NorDan.
