22 Awards for projects delivering Ireland’s built environment at 2025 RIAI Awards
The winners of the 2025 RIAI Architecture Awards have been announced, demonstrating the quality being delivered in Architecture across Ireland and internationally. This year’s Awards recognise projects across 12 categories showcasing the depth and diversity of architectural achievement with buildings and places that are central to our everyday lives.
From carefully restored heritage buildings and reclaimed public spaces, to innovative new housing, schools and workplaces – the winning projects highlight Architecture’s powerful role in shaping sustainable, inclusive, and vibrant communities.
In addition to the jury Awards, the RIAI Public Choice Award – where the public votes for their favourite building or public space – was also revealed. The Benedictine Monastery at Kylemore Abbey by Axo Architects was voted Ireland’s favourite building in 2025, topping a shortlist of 48 projects. The runners-up included: Arklow Wastewater Treatment Plant by Clancy Moore Architects in collaboration with Ayesa Engineers (2nd Place), and Scoil Naomh Bríd Culleens by SJK Architects (3rd Place).

In addition to built work, the RIAI Awards also recognise the importance of Research and the benefits it can bring to our communities by driving innovation and engagement. The Research Winners are: The Reason of Towns Exhibition by McCullough Mulvin Architects, the Irish Architecture Foundation and AP+E; and Mulranny - .WAY – a project by Brock Finucane that arose from an RIAI architectural commission for Mulranny TidyTowns.
RIAI President Sean Mahon FRIAI said:
A massive congratulations to all the Architects recognised this year. These Awards celebrate not only individual excellence but also the profound positive impact Architecture has on our communities, economy, and cultural identity. The common theme in these Awards is the value that Architecture brings to people and places, at every scale in our villages, towns and cities – from our homes, to our workplaces, to our community buildings and spaces and to our public infrastructure.
It is about Architecture that goes beyond aesthetics to create places and spaces that support communities, and enhance how we live, work, and connect every day.
