Ireland at Venice, Assembly at Galway International Arts Festival until 26 July
Assembly, Ireland’s representation at the 19th Architecture Exhibition, la Biennale di Venezia 2025 by Cotter & Naessens Architects, is featured at the Galway International Arts Festival. Located at the O’Donoghue Theatre, University of Galway until Sunday, 26 July.
As part of its national tour, Assembly travelled to some of the country's most exciting cultural events, including Cork Midsummer Festival. Following the Galway International Arts Festival, it will finish at Dunamaise Arts Centre in Portlaoise and conclude its journey at Architecture at the Edge.
Assembly explores how architecture can bring people together. Inspired by Ireland’s Citizens’ Assembly, this multi-sensory pavilion invites visitors to step inside a space shaped by collective voices.
Cotter & Naessens collaborated with sound artist David Stalling; Architect and poet Michelle Delea; curator Luke Naessens; and woodworker Alan Meredith to create a thoughtful, multi-sensory pavilion.
Ireland at Venice is an initiative of Culture Ireland in partnership with the Arts Council Culture Ireland. The national tour of Ireland at Venice is supported by the Arts Council to promote architecture to audiences in Ireland. The RIAI is delighted to be a supporter of Assembly.
