The RIAI is pleased to announce the delivery of the RIAI Conservation Induction Module 2026 Grade 3 in January 2026 to a cohort of 100 participants on the following dates:
- Day 1, Tuesday 13 January - Zoom webinar
- Day 2, Thursday 15 January - Zoom webinar
- Day 3, Tuesday 20 January - Zoom webinar
- Day 4, Thursday 22 January - Site Visit, Dublin City Centre
- Day 5, Tuesday 27 January - Zoom webinar

The RIAI CIM comprises a comprehensive lecture series spanning six days over three weeks in January 2026, including five days of live online lectures and one-day of site visits to locations in Dublin City Centre, followed by an open-book examination taking place over four weeks in March 2026.
Course Objective
The RIAI Conservation Induction Module (CIM) is designed to provide the entry level skills outlined in the Standard of Knowledge Skill and Competence for RIAI Conservation Accreditation for eligibility for ‘RIAI Architect Accredited in Conservation at Grade 3’. The aim of the course is to provide participants with an introduction to the principles and practice of architectural conservation.
- The course covers general information on the philosophy, principles and responsibilities of Architectural conservation and the identification of key areas in which advice should be sought.
- Participants should finish the course with enough awareness of the concepts and of the tools available to form the basis for a responsible approach to work on protected structures and on our architectural heritage in general.

Registration for Local Authority: Local Authority bookings must include a Purchase Order number. Without this, the booking cannot be processed. Please contact Teresa Harte for assistance.
Terms and Conditions
Confirmation is subject to event fee being finalised. Cancellation fees calculated at 50% of the estimated total bill will be charge for confirmed bookings cancelled less than 5 working days prior to the date of the planned event. A replacement person can attend instead. Cancellations made the day prior to an event will be charged 75% of the total estimated bill. No-shows will be charged the full fee. All cancellations must be confirmed in writing by email. RIAI will not be liable for any costs in the event of a course being re-scheduled.
The course is open to Registered Architect Members of the RIAI.
