Event Information

Making In is an annual gathering of makers — a one-day series of unique conversations and debates that celebrates and explores making as a way of thinking, exploring, expressing and imagining. It is a focal point for a global movement of like-minded individuals who believe in sharing and passing on the skills and knowledge of craftsmanship-across disciplines and generations.

This year’s theme, Making in Concert, will consider the concerted and collaborative effort of making across craft, art, design and architecture as well as the shared human side of making and its relationship with performance.

Notable speakers will include Sheila O'Donnell & John Tuomey, O'Donnell + Tuomey alongside Japanese sculptor Kan Yasuda;partner and founder of K2S Architects, Kimmo Lintula; The Pontificia Marinelli Foundry, considered to be the oldest foundry in the world; Cloé Pitiot, curator at the Muséedes Arts Décoratifs in Paris, the renowned musician, Martin Hayes; Teddy Abrams, acclaimed Music Director of the Louisville Orchestra; Paul Goldberger, Pulitzer Prize winning architectural critic; Rory O’Connell, co-founder of the Ballymaloe Cookery School; Mario Sierra and Karen Hay-Edie, Mourne Textiles and artist Richard Gorman.

Making In is moderated by Glenn Adamson and hosted by Joseph Walsh Studio at Fartha, County Cork, Ireland.
