The RIAI and Heritage Contractors Register presents a new monthly CPD series entitled ‘Meet the Craftsman’.

Alexander Downes from Lambstongue will present a lecture on Conserving Glazed Elements on Thursday 23 April, at the RIAI.

Lambstongue Ltd are specialist contractors working primarily in the area of glazed elements, in timber, steel, bronze and cast iron. Based in Chapelizod, the company employs 40, and has worked on projects such as the Mackintosh, Glasgow, Leinster House, Adare Manor, Humewood Castle, House of Lords, College Green and the National Concert Hall. We also design and fabriacate new steel and bronze screens, shopfronts and rooflights.

Alexander Downes is an owner/director of Lambstongue Ltd. He has a Masters in English and Philosophy from UCD. He has over 20 years’ experience working in the Construction Industry. He holds a Postgrad Diploma from TCD in Applied Building Repair and Conservation. Alexander is Chair of the Dublin Civic Trust.

Course Aim

The aim of the course is to focus on the conservation and repair of glazed elements.

Event Format

Maximum 50 in lecture theatre style.

Please Note: The RIAI will charge a €10 administration fee on bookings cancelled more than 5 working days in advance of programme delivery. Cancellations made within 2-5 working days of programme delivery will be charged 75% of the full fee. Cancellations on the day of the programme or on the day before will result in the full amount being charged.
