Call for Adjudicators – Preparatory Workshop (Information Session), 17 January

Early in 2026, the Construction Contracts Adjudication Service (CCAS) will invite applications from suitably qualified and experienced architects who wish to be considered for appointment to the CCAS Ministerial Panel of Adjudicators.

Adjudication is a statutory, fast-track dispute resolution process used on construction contracts under the Construction Contracts Act 2013. Panel adjudicators are appointed to determine disputes in line with the Act and the CCAS Code of Practice, working to tight statutory timelines and producing clear, reasoned and enforceable decisions.

The RIAI is well represented on the current CCAS Panel. If you have an interest in contract law, contract administration, ADR or dispute resolution, you should consider applying. The RIAI ADR Taskforce has also established a peer support group for members thinking of applying to the panel.

About the Workshop

This in-person information session and preparatory workshop is designed to help RIAI members understand what is involved in applying for appointment to the Ministerial CCAS Panel and acting as an adjudicator.

The workshop will cover:

• Completion of the CCAS Panel application form
• Peer review and insights into assessment expectations
• Discussion of three anonymised case studies (simple, mid-range and complex)
• A step-by-step walkthrough of the adjudication process from referral to decision

Speakers

The session will be delivered by ADR experts, including RIAI members currently serving on the Construction Contracts Adjudication Panel, sharing practical experience and insights into adjudication practice.
