Course Aim
The aim of the course is to showcase how the conservation and repair works undertaken by the OPW are helping to safeguard Sceilg Mhichí, a UNESCO World Heritage site, from the impacts of climate change.
Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course attendees will be able to:
- Understand the effects of climate change on the Sceilg Mhichíl world heritage site
- Identify the conservation, preservation, and protection measures undertaken by the OPW to maintain the island’s heritage
Speaker
Fergus Mc Cormick is a Senior Architect and RIAI Conservation Architect Grade 1 working on conservation and repair projects in the OPW Killarney National Monument District. Fergus has extensive experience working on historic buildings and structures in Ireland, the UK and Germany.
