RIAI CPD Links: Are we entering a Timber Revolution?

The supply of wood from Irish forests is forecast to double by 2035 as a result of significant investment by the Irish State in private planting over the last 20 years. This will present significant opportunities for our sector and stimulate further investment in the research and development of new wood and wood based products.

With the drive to reduce carbon emissions in construction, our forest products sector is uniquely positioned to support Irelands green recovery as we transition to a low carbon, climate resilient and environmentally sustainable economy. A key enabler will be ensuring our specifier community have a greater understanding of the benefits of increased timber use in the built environment and that our Forest Products sector create new market opportunities by utilizing indigenous wood-fiber in new and innovative ways. 

Mass Timber construction is at the leading edge of timber innovation. This webinar aims to showcase exemplary highly innovative timber design projects and highlight the benefits of utilizing timber in the built environment to reduce environmental impacts. International speakers will discuss the role of Architects in a time of climate change and where the innovation opportunities exist for homegrown timber?
