Trinity College Dublin is Seeking an Architect-led Design Team to Design the E3 Learning Foundry

Published: Thursday, November 09, 2017

This first phase of the E3 project at Trinity College Dublin, the E3 Learning Foundry, envisages the co-location of the teaching activities of the three schools of Engineering, Natural Science and Computer Science & Statistics at the east end of the Trinity College campus.

Trinity College Dublin is seeking an architect led design team to design the 5000 square metre building, an innovative “living laboratory” to facilitate on-site learning in the areas of Engineering, Energy and the Environment.

The building is to be of strong architectural merit and provide connections to the surrounding landscape. Landscaping is a key part of this commission. The building should challenge the historic west end of campus in its architectural ambition yet be of modern design. To support this, it is the College’s intention at tender assessment stage that an architect/architects of high regard and international standing be part of the assessment team. In an attempt to open the competition up to high quality smaller firms we will accept joint venture submissions.
