An interview with the US-based Irish architect Kevin Roche - who last November received UCD's highest honour, the Ulysses Medal - and former UCD Professor of Architecture, Cathal O'Neill is available as a radio podcast through the following PODCAST LINK. The distinguished architects were interviewed by Miriam O'Callaghan on 'Miriam Meets', RTE Radio One, on 13 January 2013.

Kevin Roche, who continues to practice from the offices of KRJDA in Hamden, Connecticut, was in Dublin on 28 November 2012 to receive the Ulysses Medal from UCD. Roche graduated from UCD in 1945 and taught for one year in the school of architecture as a ‘demonstrator’ (studio tutor). Former Professor of Architecture at UCD, Cathal O’Neill, delivered the Ulysses Medal citation and said that Roche’s achievement has culminated in some of the most iconic and influential buildings produced in North America in the second half of the 20th century, including the Oakland Museum of California and the Ford Foundation Headquarters and extension wings to the Metropolitan Museum of Art – both in New York.

You can also read an interview by Tony Reddy with Kevin Roche published in Architecture Ireland, Issue 263 (May/June 2012).
