RIAI Housing Policy and Statement on new Apartment Sizes

Published: Monday, January 25, 2016

New minimum apartment sizes introduced by Minister for Environment Alan Kelly last month cannot actually be built, says the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI). In a report by the Irish Times, published on 25 January 2016, RIAI Council Member, John O’Mahony said it was “not possible” to design an apartment within the new minimum sizes because the smallest permissible rooms would not fit inside.

John O'Mahony was also interviewed on RTE One's Morning Ireland  and on the Pat Kenny Show on Newstalk this morning, 25 January 2016.
