Remembering John Johansen, Architect of the American Embassy in Dublin

John Johansen (1916-2012), the architect of the American Embassy in Dublin, has died on 26 October 2012 in Brewster, Massachusetts, at the age of 96. A celebrated Modernist architect, he was a described by The New York Times as the last surviving member of the Harvard Five – a group that included Marcel Breuer, Landis Gores, Philip Johnson and Eliot Noyes.  Johansen is best known in Ireland for his US Embassy inaugurated in Ballsbridge in 1964.
