NDA Tender: Access Audit of National Disability Authority Offices, Using a Universal Design Approach

The overall aim of this project is to carry out an access audit of the offices of the National Disability Authority, 25 Clyde Road,with recommendations for making improvements to the buildings, in line with the NDA’s intention to implement good practice, using a Universal Design approach, and it’s duties as a public body under the Disability Act. As 25 Clyde Road is a protected structure in the ownership of a public body, Section 29 of the Disability Act applies.

The National Disability Authority wants to ensure that its premises are easy for everyone to access, understand and use, regardless of their age, size, ability or disability. An access audit of its offices is to be carried out, based on:

  •  the good practice guidance in its publication ‘Building for Everyone, A Universal Design Approach’
  •  Part M of the Building Regulations
  • the Code of Practice on Accessible Heritage Sites
