Minister Bruton Relaunches Coady Architects

Published: Friday, November 20, 2015

Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation,  Richard Bruton, TD has relaunched Coady Architects (formerly known as Coady Partnership Architects) at an event in The Cliff Townhouse, 22 St Stephen’s Green, Dublin 2, on 18 November. Pictured at the re-branding launch for Coady Architects (formerly known as Coady Partnership Architects) were Jim Coady, Consultant, Mark McCann, Director, Anne Fletcher, Managing Director, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation,  Richard Bruton, TD, Tomas Sexton, Director and Donal O’ Donohue, Associate Director, Coady Architects.

At Coady Architects creating sustainable architectural jobs is something that is a key focus of the management of the practice. At the rebranding launch in The Cliff Townhouse on 18 November, marking a change of name for Coady Partnership Architects to Coady Architects, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton, TD noted that with the support of Enterprise Ireland SMEs including architectural practices can achieve great success in developing sustainable employment in Ireland.  It is not just the large scale practises and contractors who succeed in international markets, SMEs can and are doing it too!

“Many companies across Ireland made necessity the mother of invention during the downturn. Businesses up and down the country, including Coady Architects, expanded into international markets during the bad years, and have found that with hard work and innovation, this could become the beginning of a major new phase for their businesses. This can help to ease the high volatility typical of the construction sector in all economies and sustain jobs through difficult times in their home market,” stated the Minister.

At the invitation of Enterprise Ireland, Coady Architects were recently headline speakers at an architectural conference in Duisburg, Germany on the use of Building Information Modelling. The practice is a recognised leader in BIM in Ireland and brought this expertise to Germany where the transition to BIM is in its infancy.
Anne Fletcher, Managing Director remarked that “over the years Coady Architects have received great support from Enterprise Ireland. Through a variety of networking gatherings, opportunities to speak at conferences, detailed market intelligence and financial support Enterprise Ireland has assisted us with our clients and partners in London, Amsterdam, Brussels, Hamburg, Frankfurt and Duisburg in Germany.”

The practice has established partnerships giving them access to work in these markets which are generating jobs in Ireland, in Coady Architects. In addition, this international outreach has enabled the practice to bring best international expertise to projects we are delivering in Ireland. Coady Architects landed our first project outside Ireland in 2012– winning a PPP design competition to deliver 22,000m2  education buildings across four campuses. Three of these projects are now well advanced on site, the fourth due to start in the new year.

Why rebrand? In response to the new dynamics in the economy Anne Fletcher remarked  “we have taken time to reflect, to plan for positive growth, to set out our goals and put in place strategies to achieve these. One of the key goals is creating a greater awareness within the wider market of the breadth of experience, the depth of skill and the quality of talent that is Coady Architects. Our rebranding is just part of this. “

Economic recovery has created great opportunity for the construction sector. Ireland needs us to rise to the challenge. Coady Architects are refreshed, strong and highly skilled. We are actively engaged designing and delivering projects across Ireland to meet the challenges in Housing, Healthcare and Grade A Office accommodation, all areas of major focus of the government.
