Call for Entries for RIAI Conservation/Restoration Medals

Published: Tuesday, October 09, 2018

The RIAI Council have decided to award Three Medals in Conservation/Restoration, one medal, per triennial period 2005-2007, 2008-2010, and 2011-2013.

The Conservation/Restoration medal is awarded to a project that meets the criteria in either of the disciplines.

For Conservation the Medal is awarded to an architect or architectural practice for projects of exceptional merit completed within a specified three-year period.  The term conservation is interpreted to include works where buildings of historic importance are refurbished and adapted for contemporary use.

For Restoration the Medal is awarded to an architect or architectural practice for excellence in Restoration. The term Restoration is interpreted to include works where buildings of historic importance are restored as monuments.  The award is specifically related to projects where architectural scholarship and research are major contributions to the quality of the project submitted for the award.

The same jury will cover the three time periods and both categories.

Closing date for entries online is 12 noon, Monday 5 November 2018.
