Call for Applications: Japan World Exposition 1970 Commemorative Fund Grants

Published: Monday, July 30, 2018

The JEC Fund offers grants for projects contributing to international cultural exchange and the enhancement of international goodwill, and international projects in the fields of education and academic study.

For fiscal year 2018, the JEC Fund Grant program invites overseas to submit applications for Grant-eligible projects that are estimated to total 9.2 million yen.

In March 2016, the JEC Fund provided 1 million Yen to bring an exhibition of Tomoko Sawada artwork to the MART Gallery in Rathmines in 2017. In March 2017, it also provided 250,000 Yen for the 'Silent Film Live Show' at the Chester Beatty Library in June 2017, and 600,000 Yen for a seminar at Trinity College in 2017.

The amount of the JEC Fund Grant should account for less than three-quarters of the total project expenses applicable to the JEC Fund Grant, in principle. This means that each implementing organisation is required to cover more than a quarter of the total project expenses with their own funds, excluding other public grants, etc.

- Intensive project: Planned to provide grants of up to 10 million yen to a few projects.

- General project: Planned to provide grants to tens of projects up to 3 million yen.
