Event Information

Shadowland examines the future for Ireland’s built environment in the shadow of NAMA.

A response to the current economic crisis, Shadowland highlights the lack of ideas and imagination in planning and construction over the last twenty years, which has left a legacy of half-finished projects, ghost housing estates and land zoned for development in inappropriate locations.

After the Exhibition - The Next Step

The ultimate aim of Shadowland is to stimulate discussion, debate and ideas as a catalyst for change.

In early 2010, the proposed solutions will be collated and presented to the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government and sent to other Ministers, politicians and policy makers nationwide to encourage creative responses to the current crisis in the built environment.

The report will be available in the ‘Next Step’ section of the website.  Please register here to receive a pdf of the report.

Organisers: Shadowland is organised by FKL architects. It has been made possible thanks to the generous support and assistance of Dublin City Council.
