The Architects have orchestrated the reinstatement of this building as a single-family home, within the echoes and patina of its pasts. The different lives of this building are laid bare and respectfully revealed – yet deftly interwoven – allowing for a choreography of these layers of history and legacy.

The craftmanship and execution of the restoration works are exemplary. While the sensitivity and sophistication of the contemporary interventions are so light and understanding of the fabric and history of the building, they could be initially mistaken as casual. The depth and breadth of the dissection, understanding, curation, collation and intervention in this piece of conservation is evident, and a testament to the relationship between the Architect and client.
