The responsibilities imbued in the conservation of this iconic building of the Trinity College Campus cannot be understated. This conservation project has been undertaken with the utmost care, judgement and respect for the Campanile and its significance within the architectural, historic, and cultural legacy of the college.
The success of the conservation works rests on the depth of research, analysis, survey, and architects’ passion for this building. The delicacy of judgment on the extent and impact of the works is to be applauded. It is not overwrought, and suitably evident where required. The repairs and interventions are honest and appropriate, and executed with exemplary craftsmanship.
