Co. Meath
This home balances rigorous formal logic with stirring spatial ingenuity. The design merges elements of a gate lodge, silo, Baroque church and farmhouse to create a deeply personal and memorable family home. Though modest and harmonious with its surroundings, the house commands its site with a quiet confidence. Inventive yet purposeful detailing and execution capture both the measurable and intangible qualities of the rural domestic vernacular. Inside, plain, clean and robust surfaces support flexible, conventional and unconventional uses around a highly refined central hall, in a continuous play of diurnal light and shade.
