In this new Architects’ Studio, a rich, tightly woven sequence of spaces unfolds around a central hearth, linking back laneways and a sunken garden studio to lofty rooftop views. Along this route, each spatial threshold builds anticipation and frames connections to the surrounding context.

Inside, a Wunderkammer-like interior of hidden drawers, display shelves, and adaptable work surfaces surround the occupants. The intimate and contemplative environment is meticulously crafted to support a range of creative activities – drawing, painting, making, discussion, and reflection. Light and material are carefully calibrated to every task at hand – whether sketching by daylight or concentrating on detailed work. The result is an inspiring studio that nourishes ideas and fosters dialogue between occupants and visitors, nestled in the back garden of a Dublin terraced house.
