Award Type:
Irish Architecture Awards
Location:
Dublin
The judges commend the Architects for their refined design approach in realising this high-density, city-centre infill housing project on Amiens Street. While constraints were present, the jury warmly welcomed how the new central atrium allows the scheme to breathe, while forming a quiet threshold. Each space has been considered, creating a special place to live with moments of unique light and character as one moves through the building. The Architects have realised a residential development that is imbued with respect for the existing, whilst balancing the new with a subtle harmony. This is a place apart from the city - yet one that gently acknowledges its historic context.
