This is a 100 learning hour module, comprising 24 contact hours, and 76 self directed learning hours. The module is delivered 3 hours per week over 8 weeks as a standalone CPD module, and 6 hours per week over 4 weeks as part of the DT775 CPD Diploma (BIM Technologies) programme.

Programme Objectives:
The BIM Architecture: Secondary Building Elements module will develop the learner’s ability for creating secondary building elements to integrate with primary building elements in a digital building model.

Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of the BIM Architecture: Secondary Building Elements module the student will be able to:
• Identify and select a set of secondary building elements from a digital library
• Create and edit secondary building element sets for use in the building project
• Recognise the hierarchy and have ability to execute commands, sub commands of secondary building elements
• Establish how to connect and edit primary and secondary building elements
• Convey graphic description and measurement of secondary building elements.
• Construct custom annotations, tags and keynotes
• Schedule values to measure primary and secondary building elements
• Manipulate the model to effectively visualise the building by way of views
• Organise building data on to digital plotting sheets
