The RIAI present a CPD series focused on conservation issues including work on protected structures or historic buildings of outstanding significance, architectural history and heritage.

Course Aim:
The aim of this CPD series is to support the maintenance of a high level of professional competence among practitioners whose work involves protected structures and other significant elements of the architectural heritage. The seminars will focus on both the philosophy of conservation and the management of materials on conservation projects.

Each session will focus on a case-study of a particular conservation project with presentations by one or more speakers with direct involvement in that project. Where possible the presentations will include a review of the approach to a particular technical challenge to enable practitioners to build up knowledge of a particular aspect of conservation practice. Each presentation will be followed by a Q&A session.

The series is particularly aimed at RIAI Grade 1 and Grade 2 Conservation Architects and Architects accredited in Conservation at Grade 3. Members who do not have particular conservation expertise are welcome to attend the seminars but should bear in mind that the presentations will be pitched at a level suitable for those with expertise in this area.

Event Format:
Capacity 70 participants in a lecture theatre style.
