Prospective Applicant Technical Assessment Information Package
In this area you will find information available to the RIAI which may be useful to individuals preparing for Technical Assessment. There are three main types of information provided here:
- A report on the pilot exercise (please note that the system has been adjusted in a number of ways as a result of the pilot so some comments may relate to elements that have been changed).
- A copy of the presentation made at the Briefing Sessions (if the presentation is updated, the most recent version will be the one available here).
- Q&A Documents.

If you are considering applying for Technical Assessment, or are already in the process of preparing an application, the RIAI would be very grateful if you could complete and return the attached form: RIAI – Technical Assessment Resource Planning
NB: Completing the form does not commit you to any course of action. Equally, not completing the form has no effect on you or your application. However, given that there is no way to anticipate exactly how many Technical Assessment applications will be made in total, or at any given time, providing this information will help the RIAI by giving us information to support resource allocation and planning. With this information the RIAI can work to ensure that the processing of Technical Assessment applications can be handled as quickly and effectively as possible. Having your details will also enable us to notify you if there are any important updates such as briefing meetings, or reports

Registration: Route E
To qualify for this route you must have been performing duties commensurate with those of an architect in this State for 10 or more years prior to 1 May 2008
This is the Technical Assessment system described in Section 14(2)(h) of the Building Control Act 2007.
