Urban Design CPD

Posted: Monday, October 13, 2008

The Urban Forum has developed a continuing professional development course for professionals involved in placemaking. The CPD will be presented in an innovative and engaging format, combining hands-on workshops focused on developing urban design skills with discussions and seminars involving eminent thinkers and practitioners in Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Engineering and the Environment. The course will bring public and private practitioners up-to-date with the latest policy tools available as well as providing a unique opportunity to further develop and refine urban design skills and techniques in a supportive environment including analysis, design, communication, sustainability, concept planning and masterplanning.

Team working and collaboration between the professions will be a key theme, reflecting the multi-disciplinary nature of design. Over the course of the two days, participants working in small multi-disciplinary groups will undertake an urban design exercise. The seminars are structured to provide an introduction to the background knowledge and skills needed to undertake each stage of the exercise.

Places are very limited so book now to avoid disappointment.
