Jointly organised by UIA Architecture for All (AfA) Work Programme with RIAI Healthcare Design Committee and RIAI Accessibility Task Force supported by Dublin City Council
The intention of the seminar is to consider design strategies for an ageing population and to focus attention on:
- Improving the quality of life of older people by influencing the design of integrated housing, healthcare and accessible environments
- Challenging the perceptions of housing for older people
- Raising awareness of the possibilities that innovative design and ICT can offer
- Drawing inspiration from both Irish and international examples

Biographies
Prof. Kenny is Head of the Dept. of Medical Gerontology in Trinity College Dublin, Lead Investigator of The Irish LongituDinal study of Ageing (TILDA) & Director of the Centre for Successful Ageing in St. James’ Hospital.
Rodd Bond is an architect, Director of the Netwell Centre in Dundalk Institute of Technology, who has managed Dundalk’s participation in the WHO Age friendly cities project
Eleanor Masterson is Architectural Advisor in the Health Service Executive, Estates
Dr. Eduardo Elkouss, originally from Argentina, now practices as an architect in Alicante.
Luis Cubillo is senior partner of Cubillo Arquitectos, Madrid.
Monika Anna Klenovec is an architect & civil engineer, Chair of the UN NGO Committee on Ageing in Vienna & Jury Member for the World Architecture Festival Accessibility Award
Paul Keogh is President of the RIAI and has designed a number of award winning developments for older people
