Selma Harrington Re-Elected as ACE President 2012/13

Dublin-based RIAI Architect Selma Harrington has been re-elected by the Architect’s Council of Europe at its recent General Assembly as President for the second term and the two-year period 2012-2013. Selma Harrington has been President of ACE since 1 January 2010. Speaking to the General Assembly in Brussels, Selma Harrington said: “The vision, program and work invested by the Executive Board members and myself during the last two years are a base for continuity and will strive to further refine communication and cooperation between the Executive Board, the ACE Staff and Member Organisations in order to effectively implement the agreed political actions”. She said that she took the role of President with deep interest and engagement and will continue to do so in the next term.
ACE has also appointed Ian Pritchard as the new Secretary General. Pritchard join from the Royal Institute of British Architects, where he was Director International Relations and Regulation, with responsibility for monitoring EU policies and responding to consultations on new legislation both from the UK Government and the European Commission. Starting his new position at the beginning of January, Pritchard will represent the ACE, supporting the development and the implementation of the ACE policies, campaigns and advocacy strategies. He will also be responsible for leading and managing the ACE Secretariat in Brussels. www.ace-cae.eu
