Proposals for Certification under the Building Regulations

Published: Friday, May 18, 2012

Since the publication of the proposals for Design and Completion Certification under the Building Regulations on 14 April 2012, the RIAI is researching and formulating a response, identifying the issues and problems as well as solutions. Meetings and consultations have taken place with the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government (DECLG), our colleagues and legal advisers at national and European level.

The RIAI and a number of RIAI Members also attended a meeting on 15 May at the DECLG with the Irish Green Building Council and Esaki representatives. The RIAI is a founding member and board member of the IGBC. The RIAI also attended a stakeholder briefing in the Department on 2 April.

The Public Consultation process closes on 24 May 2012 and we strongly encourage our members to make a submission. More information can be found for RIAI Members on the Members website.
The RIAI will be making a submission by 24 May 2012.

The proposals for the consultation document and draft Statutory Instrument can be downloaded from the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government website.
