This one-day seminar, organised by the Fire & Safety Division of Engineers Ireland, will cover a broad range of topics relating to persons involved in fire safety and in fire loss prevention.
Presentations on the day will address a broad range of current fire safety challenges and solutions including: an update on how the fire safety industry is actively meeting the challenges posed by the Building Control (Amendment) Regulations; 3rd party certification of passive fire protection installation; an update on the revised code of practice BS9999; and hospital evacuation strategies and preplanning with the emergency service. There will also be a presentation on the TGD-B Volume 2 and the practical issues associated with this publication.
The aim of the seminar will be to inform fire safety practitioners, both public and private sector, of the latest developments, current challenges and best practice in important aspects of fire safety design and management.

This seminar is addressed at professional engineers and architects, fire safety engineers, building control officers, fire officers, contractors, insurance surveyors, loss adjusters, engineering students and regulators. It will be an opportunity for those interested in solving problems in the practice of building design and of fire safety engineering to meet other professionals and to update skills in these areas.
