Event Information
The main construction institutions (RIAI, CIAT, SCSI, ACEI, IEI, iStructe, ICES, CIBSE, CIF, CIOB, Law Society, OPW), are committed to a series of discussion workshops regarding BIM (Building Information Modelling).See www.cita.ie/bimworkshops
The first meeting is on the 1st February, and is focused on formulating BIM Policy. David Philip of the UK Cabinet Office (formerly of Balfour Beatty), is presenting the keynote address. For more information on David Philip, see this video on NBS website: http://embed.buto.tv/JSdc7
Registration for the BIM workshop events is at www.cita.ie/bimworkshops, (spaces are limited). The cost of attending works out to ±€8/person (€25/company for 3 people).
These are issues that every organisation needs to deal with anyway, and it make far more sense that key stakeholders in construction do this together, to share the workload and develop some joined-up thinking, rather than doing this in isolation. Attending the workshops will ensure that you are at the forefront of the development of BIM in Ireland, and from a business point of view, these workshops present an excellent opportunity to network with other industry partners, who have a similar interest in BIM.
