Based on a series of extensive and interlinked data sheets the PHPP is a clearly structured design sorftware package that can be used to assist in the careful design and modelling of any building to achieve the passive house standard. In particular the PHPP and workshops look at the building fabric and key components in a passive house and include tools for: Calculating U-Values of Components, Energy Balances, Designing Comfort Ventilation, Calculating Heat Load and Summer Confort Calculations.
Learning Outcomes:
Over the two days the workshop provides an in depth interactive demonstration of the PHPP 2007 and covers the following topics:
Definition of a Passive Hosue
- Basic Construction Physics
- Introduction and verification of a Passive Hosuse Project
- Windows in the Passive House; Calculation of U-Values in the PHPP
- Input of Areas and windows: Input of shading data
- Ventilation in Passive House
- Heating Systems in Passive House
and Completion of the example projects.
